Mobil1 - Powertrain

Launching just as the Formula 1 season revs up, this new film for Mobil1 charts the brand’s technical advances in line with the evolution of the motorsport. Leading creative direction on the campaign, we were tasked with creating a bespoke 60-second composition to soundtrack the journey of Mobil1 oil through successive generations of Formula 1 engines.

The film follows the fluid as it moves through high-performance machinery, connecting the relentless innovation of motorsport with the everyday journeys we all make. The soundtrack needed to mirror this motion: precise, powerful and fluid, capturing the energy, engineering and evolution at the heart of the brand.

Musically the direction blended electronic house and techno with cinematic scoring. Driving synths, drum machines and arpeggiated textures built momentum as the film intensified, while orchestral elements added scale and drama. Real Formula 1 engine recordings were layered into the track, fusing mechanical sound design with music to create a dynamic score that reflects the speed, precision and performance of Mobil 1.
